Project Details

The Christian Chronicle is an international newspaper for members of the Churches of Christ. They had been using php-nuke to manage their online presence, but were limited in what they could accomplish and had been very susceptible to hacks. Their existing site was cumbersome to navigate and didn't reflect the quality of the print edition of their publication.

In order to address the needs of the Christian Chronicle and its readers, the site was completely redesigned and presented in a layout more representative of a newspaper. A custom content management system was developed that enabled more control over articles and the ability to connect articles with related content. It also provided for more robust calendars and event management, more control over galleries and better presentation of images, and implemented membership features for it's readers not available in the previous version of the site. The new site and cms also provide for better ad management and ad serving, with the capability of self-serve ad placement.

The Christian Chronicle website has been launched with it's core set of features, and additional features are scheduled for inclusion in the first few months of 2008. These additional items deal primarily with membership benefits, including newsletter management, advanced search, access to downloads, and the ability to submit content. In addition, audio/video capability, polls and surveys, and a link directory will be added to the site.
